Maria Dare, Serge Dare, and the Ballet House of Portland OR:
The Ballet House spanned 50 years of Portland Oregon dance history closing in 1997. If one adds it's predecessor, The Lindendare School, it dates back to early 1930's. The Maria Dare Dance History Collection offers an amazing contribution to the knowledge base of dance history. These pages are dedicated to Maria Dare and her husband R. Donald Dare (Serge Dare) who dedicated their lives to preserving the roots of ballet. In addition, Maria developed a style of ballet that was exceptionally healthy for the adult body.
